Origins

Ashes to Ashes — ( The Fall )

Imperia used to be a nation promised to prosper. It rose to glory quickly and fell even quicker.

No one saw it coming. The downfall was sudden—overwhelming, terrifying. It was a normal day then, but a well-known and active citizen was revealed to have been banished for no apparent reason. The people were confused, of course, so they questioned the Old Emperor.

Instead of honesty, they were met with excuses. Still confused and now angry, they pushed for more, eventually rioting and demanding a proper answer. For days, he was met with backlash after backlash. The Old Emperor was a prideful man. His ego had its limit. He lost control and he didn't know how to get it back.

So, he did what any cowardly leader would have done, and he turned his back on his people. The Old Emperor announced his resignation after withdrawing all of Imperia's money, then revealing to his council that Imperia was being auctioned off. The Council, loyal to the land and its people, relayed the information to all Imperians. Of course, they were outraged. They sought guidance from [REDACTED], seeking his banishment and for his name to be sullied for what he did to them.

[REDACTED] ruled the act of withdrawing everything from Imperia's bank as “within his right,” therefore seeing no reason to banish him from this world. Meanwhile, selling Imperia was viewed as unacceptable, but still ruled as no reason to sentence him to permanent exile. Imperia, now in disarray, was collapsing.

None had seen the Old Emperor after the trial in front of [REDACTED]. Only rumors of his whereabouts were whispered and carried through the now empty wind in Imperia.

Unbeknownst to anyone, The Old Emperor had one last act of love for the empire he so proudly presented to the world. The Dragon—the symbol of Imperia, its sworn protector—was woken up. Told lies, deceived by the words of its master. The tyrant’s betrayal was twisted into a sob story of forced isolation. So, when the Dragon was told to unleash its wrath upon the land, it did.

Citizens panicked as the first flame was sighted. The Dragon's breath spread quickly. The Council scrambled to calm the people as the Citadel was set ablaze—the centerpiece of Imperia's former glory, now reduced to ember and floating stone.

It was reported immediately to [REDACTED], finally leading to the Old Emperor's permanent exile from the world. The people would have cheered upon hearing the news… if only they weren't standing in the ruins of their homes when it was relayed.

This nation was always burning anyway.

Imperia lived in fire and died in it; in its burnt wreckage was ash, wafting through the air alongside the lingering smoke.

Rise, My Angels ( Founding and Current Status )

The old land had fallen, its people scattered across other nations—allied or not—and was almost hopeless. Imperia was just a ghost now. The fire had long since died out but something else was igniting now.

Nevro, the former councilor in charge of bringing people into the land, was determined. This community of theirs was sacred. The bonds formed and the love grown was too precious to be left to fade with Imperia's old glory.

Along with the other councilors, Nevro sought to reclaim the land and gather the townspeople once again. She rebuilt the foundation of the glory lost with her own bare hands. A new beginning was on the horizon.

Imperia, symbolically and almost literally, was hell. From its ashes rose a nation of angels, free from the torment in their past, soaring in the skies. While Zerheit was starting from nearly nothing, the community never faded and many swore to help this new land prosper.

Even now in its early days, a new district was founded in order to stabilize Zerheit’s economy: Zaun—the farming district primarily handled by Derlord, the Councilor of Temperance. There are other districts already in planning.

Zerheit is now at peace. Stable. Free.

Despite the Old Emperor and his demons coming back for revenge, the nation did not interfere unless directly affected. They watched from the sidelines, with messengers lurking at the scenes of destruction.

Now, they have nothing to fret about. The community keeps working towards a brighter future and a better fate. They also have new allies, even some who used to be foes (as caused by the tyrant ruler). Soon, the land will grow, and the land of Forgotten will see more angels soaring in the sky. Unknown for now, but sure to be remembered by its inhabitants.

Culture

ZERHEIT: Culture

Zerheit is inspired heavily by Judeo-Christian theology and Greek culture. Our concept of Angels, hierarchy, and different aspects of lore is heavily based on the Judeo-Christian depiction of angels, while several parts of us (like our architecture) are based on the Greeks.

LEGENDS

— Local legends and inside jokes. Most Zerheitians know these and will reference them all of the time.

The Nameless Gays

Once ominous visitors in the old land, inviting the people to a wedding, now an accepted part of our lives. They're often found invisible, visiting every now and then to collect debts (paid for in lives) or just to walk around.

The Ghast Killer

In the old land, a crime crisis occurred! In the middle of that chaos, people's ghasts were found dead, leaving their owners in mourning. No one knows who they were. No one knows why they've never come.

The Meowing Phantom

The old EXP farm was underground, and most usually visited alone. It was quiet apart from the sound of water splashing as cave spiders fell but there was one night when someone heard something odd. A voice was down there, presumably farming EXP, but… he was meowing? Even to this day, no one knows who he was.

The Voices

Down at the homeless shelter, those living there rarely ever encountered each other. There were reports of voices in the walls when some were alone. Outside the homeless shelter, there weren't as many reports, but still. Voices were there. Not anymore, though.

Daddy Warden

Many Zerheitians enjoy exploring ancient cities. Many of them have also had several encounters with the one who has been dubbed Daddy Warden, eventually being aggressively tickled by him every time. Zerheit loves him.

He Who Shall Not Be Named

The Old Emperor. His name isn't on any records in Zerheit, having been erased, but we remember.

Yaoi / Yuri Tower

A tribute to the Yaoi / Yuri stairs from the early days of the old land.

Magic Ingredients

Magic shrooms, pet puffers. Anything you can dream of, we have it! We're very magical people.

Bobbert the Pufferfish

Wikru ate him and he's dead. He was Aisyle's pet pufferfish. At least he got someone feeling magical in his final moments.

Rising Light Festival

The first Rising Light Festival was held on the 1st of May, celebrating the founding of Zerheit and their freedom from the tyrant who wronged them greatly. The Citadel; the main building of the old land, was burned in front of citizens and visitors. A celebration of fire to symbolize how Zerheit rose from the ashes of the old land.

Biology

ZERHEIT: Angel Biology

Our specific species of angel is heavily based on the Abrahamic depiction of them. Though, there are differences

The Angels in Zerheit have Three Forms, varying from their normal state to their true form. Those who are not angels before entering Zerheit are blessed by the Seraphin, gifted wings and enhanced vision as a welcome to the land. While most do have these secondary forms, not all have them, and not all possess the same traits. This is only a rough description of each!

First of all, what are these “three forms”?

An angel  usually has three forms:

  Normal —> Half —> “True”

Normal Form

This form is the natural state of an angel; the form taken before entering Zerheit and choosing to be a citizen. Sometimes it's human, other times not! Either way, it doesn't matter.

Half-Truth Form

This is the in-between of being in the normal form and true form. In most cases, the normal form is more dominant between the two in this state. The only difference is the angel is now displaying their wings (and their extra eyes).

True Form

Once one chooses to become a citizen of Zerheit, the Seraphin blesses them with the Light if they wish. The true form is based on what is said to be the true appearance of the angels in the bible. Floating eyes, several wings. Though, if a Zerheitian does not wish to possess this or physically cannot, they are not forced.

——————————————

Different roles have different features to aid them in their jobs. Again, not all follow these rough descriptions.

The Standard:

A normal angel possesses at least two wings with two eyes on each and one main eye. When in half-truth, these features remain, although the main eye is invisible to the normal eye.

Farmers

Farmers aren't far from the standard form. Some farmers may have an extra pair of hands during half-truth, and others might have an extra pair of wings to help as they work around the field. The amount of eyes stays the same.

Resource Gatherers

Resource gatherers run around the world, collecting materials for builds and essential resources. Because of this, they possess four wings and eyes. It aids them as they move and gives them the opportunity to spot anything needed.

Builders

Builders, similar to the gatherers, have four wings. They are blessed with extra eyes, helping them keep an eye out for details and any missed blocks during the building process!

News Reporters

News Reporters have six wings and three eyes on each. They move across nations, keeping their ears open for any important information. During intense situations like war, they're at the scene, flying around and scanning for news. Their job requires a way to move quickly and absorb information quickly.

Soldier-type Angels

There are several angel roles who specialize in fighting. These angels possess the same traits as the news reporters, although for different reasons. On the battlefield, our warriors need to be quick in thinking and in movement. One wrong move could be costly. More eyes allows them to have eyes on their surroundings constantly, leaving nearly no weak spots for enemies to take advantage of.

The Thrones

May have another pair of wings when ascending to this status.

The Cherubim Council

No one has ever seen their true forms other than those who work closely to them. If not working with the Council, they must not be alive to tell the tale.

————————————————

But what if a citizen isn't an angel?

In these cases, it may be because their original biology is incompatible with that of an angel's. Other times they simply did not want to be one. Despite this, Zerheit has created ways for them to soar in the skies with the rest.

Winged-Shoes

Inspired by the Messenger of the Gods, Hermes, these are leather boots with wings! These were created with magic and the blessing of our Seraphin.

While other inventions can be made, like artificial wings, we unfortunately do not have the means to create those!

If your friend is strong enough… maybe they can carry you. If they really love you, they'll get stronger.

Anyway, it must have been the wind.

————————————————

Odd Behaviors

Many angels display some… odd behaviors. No one knows why that is and why it's so common, but it's just accepted now.

Angels are weirdly drawn to fire, like moths to a flame. During the Rising Light Festival, everyone circled around the fire and just stared. As if they were in a trance. Some suspect this is because the old land was always on fire—causing the people to now be attracted by it.

Wings aren't usually very colorful, mostly coming in shades of white or even black. Those especially blessed by the Seraphin have different colors fading in at the tips.

Many Zerheitians have been nocturnal since the days of the old land. This somehow affected them now as angels, giving some enhanced vision at night like owls do.

The reason as to why most citizens are nocturnal is unclear. Though, there is speculation that they developed the need to be on the lookout for danger, given everything that happened in the old land. The sound of fire crackling triggers goosebumps, reminding them of the nights everything was set aflame.

Districts

ZERHEIT: DISTRICTS

At the moment, Zerheit has Three Districts, all with their own purposes. All of these sectors aim to help Zerheit flourish.

Zaun & Zyroth

— These are twin districts, co-managed by the Virtues of Temperance and Charity.

— Zaun & Zyroth focus on farming, aiming to boost the economy and make sure we have enough to upkeep our weekly taxes.

— Both are synonymous with each other, but Zaun is more “city-like” and houses the main farm. Zyroth, on the other hand, is only now in the works.

Zeldan (formerly GoldenHalo)

— A shop producing golden carrots, managed by Hollow and his… workers. It works closely with Zaun & Zyroth, sometimes using the carrots produced there for its goods.

Zirian

— The military district. This is where the training grounds and headquarters will be located. Soldier-type angels will hone their skills and learn to follow the lead of their commanders here.

— Overseed by the Virtues of Courage, Wisdom, and Justice.

Allies

ZERHEIT: ALLIES

Zerheit is currently a part of the United Falcons Alliance Group, invited after the fall of the old land. Though, we only have three official allies.

Falconia

Led by Griffith. It is a monarchist nation that is heavily focused on the military. They also have several subnations such as Solaris, Harvesthold, and more.

Arkadia

Led by Alexzandra. Arkadia was an old foe from the days of the old land, now allies after the Emperor was cast out.

PolishEmp

Led by Wikru. Back in the old land, they were friends, now they're officially allied with our great nation.

Kal’ Morodrin

Led by Parasect. A nation of dwarves residing in a mountain a few thousand blocks away from Zerheit.
